The term It bag was the fashion terminology originally from fashion industry used in 1900s and 2000s referring to describe the type of high-price designer handbag by makers such as Hermes Birkin and Hermes Kelly, Chanel 2.55, Givenchy Nightingale that got a massive attention and almost iconic fashion symbol status.

Marc Jacobs once told the Evening Standard: “Any woman can wear shoes and handbags: It’s not a question of how tall you are, how skinny you are, how blonde or blue-eyed or tanned or whatever. So it’s logical that more women can embrace the notion of a handbag than a fitted rubber dress with zips up the back.”

According to Vogue magazine, "It" bag also once described as “that totemic accessory that announced you were owner of all that was desirable in the world.” The it bag is still notably playing as important role for everyone in fashion industry. Since the fashion market has developed so quickly, the accessories started sharing of luxury profits similarly with garment, in part because they were, and are, “one size fits all” and It will never go out of fashion, eventually it would become classic and vintage.

So What makes an It bag in our generation now?

The fashion designer Stuart Vevers, who has designed more than a few bags, told The Observer, “is something new—that’s the only formula there is.”

According to the static of Vogue magazine, the new generation of It bags tend to be lighter and more subtly branded than their predecessors which is in keeping with fashion’s see-sawing in the direction of minimalism. However, there is particularly growing trend for eco-conscious customers and designers. They are making faux leather and other synthetic material purses. The most notably famous eco-friendly designer in this respect is Stella McCartney. Her famous handbags are mainly made of faux leather and other artificial material instead of genuine leather. Also, the YSL has produced some similarly ideas of purses too.

Designers are elevating the bucket for 2015 spring. With perforated leathers, extotic and high-shine leathers redefinding the silhouette.

Each season there are hottest handbags added to shelves into retailer stores that are being marketed as the next It bags. However, only few of them truly get the popularity in the end. The serious problem that we need to face is the fashion market has become so fast and the only thing making the difference is the "price." However, there are still so many young and ambitious designers producing many truly great and elegant handbags, but the consumers are still dominated by the grand names like Chanel or Chloe or Hermes.
